About
I'm Toby, a Master of Analytics (IEOR) student at UC Berkeley with a CS background. I'm focused on AI/ML systems and applied machine learning—especially retrieval/RAG, evaluation pipelines, and data engineering for ML.
I enjoy building practical systems end-to-end and contributing to research-style projects through reproducible experiments and clean infrastructure. I'm currently looking for RA opportunities and ML engineering roles where I can work close to real models and real data.

Contextual Chunking for Retrieval
Improving RAG and retrieval by preserving context in chunk embeddings—exploring late chunking and contextual chunk representations for long-context embedding models.
